I earn more money making bits and bobs and selling them on facebook. Can't find your answer? Claire - that's one of the reasons I chose Wikaniko as you are not restricted to one way of selling, there are so many different ways to gain sales with Wikaniko. Some of the direct selling companies are a bit limited I think in the flexibility they offer. So if you get a poor territory or you can't do party plan for example you are stuck and aren't going to make much money. Claire, I think that your comments on Avon would reflect my reasons not to join them so I joined Oriflame instead!
I work full time so wanted to have something to do at the weekends which fitted around my home life. I didn't want to be given a huge area to cover and have to pay out for a start up kit etc. Thanks Vicki. The profit i was getting payed for books, bags and other bits of stationary and samples that arent essential but good to have.
I think my advice for u would be to find out before hand if ther r many reps in your area as that was the trouble i had, there seemed to be one on every corner , and ask around if neighbours and family etc would be up for ordering also ask local businesses and ppl u know if they wouldnt mind taking books with them to work or to activities they may go to on an evening.
I actually really miss doing it, keep thinking of starting again but weve recently had a rep take over my street plus a imposter round and a neighbours daughter so at the moment all my old customers wouldnt be interested, i was really proud when i stopped i had neighbours coming up2 me and asking me to start again as the girl who took over was very unreliable Good luck with whatever u decide anyway and the girls on the avon thread are fab.
Self-employed Does anyone on here work for Utility Warehouse? Self-employed I am considering being an ann summers party organiser Self-employed How does earning cash in hand work? Thanks everyone I guess in the end it just depends if you can get the right people who will order all the time!
Might enquire first of all just to see if anyone is already doing where I live etc:. Yes you have to pay for the books but you buy as few or as many as you choose. I have about 80 houses but only buy 20 books. I never buy the samples either. Like a previous poster said, I mainly do it for the social aspect. I do my own street and the next one along. I have lived her for 8 years and can honestly say I have at least 5 people who I would consider friends since I started doing Avon.
It's not for everyone and like I said previously I don't make much from it but I enjoy it and will carry on for as long as I do. Help See chat rules. Sort by Helpfulness Rating Date. Cons takes over your house and you can end up in debt if you do not know how to manage your own finance. Rate your recent company Share your experience to help others. Avon was a good company to work with, i built up a good amount of satisfied customers who were loyal to me. I also delt with Money handling and Organising Orders.
Pros Good Experience. Need to place an order over certain amount to get delivery free other wise premium charge of. It can be tiring at times especially if you have a big district to cover and no car but the best times are around the holiday as all the customers are wanting to buy for presents. I would definitely recommend working for Avon if you can deliver and pick up the books as well as sort out the finances and delivery. The manager was so lovely too. I absolutely love working with Avon and being a rep.

You can do this online via Avon's website and a person from Avon's corporate office will get back to you. Go to the "Your Avon" website and click on "Apply Now.
Alternately, you can contact an Avon representative and sign up with them. If you know someone selling Avon, ask them to help you sign up. They receive incentives for recruiting other members. Complete your discussion with the corporate representative. This is not an interview per se, just an informative phone meeting so you can learn more about how the business functions and what it takes to become an Avon rep.
If there is an Avon representative in your area, they will ask to meet with you at this time and discuss the process over coffee or lunch so that they can give you more information about Avon.
This person will become your mentor if you have any questions as you build your business. Pay the fee to get started. Avon is available all around the world, so check with your local office to find out what fee you will pay.
In most cases, the starter kit will be mailed to you. Start your online training. Avon offers full training online for both new reps and those who already have some experience. Check out the product lines while you're at it; you will need to know these thoroughly if you want to be a successful Avon representative.
Part 2. Set up your website. This will probably be one of your main sources of income. Avon provides each representative with a personalized website they can use to take orders, give information about the products and disseminate contact information. Name your website URL something that's easy to remember; it could be your name or something that grabs prospective customers' attention. Even though Avon is called a "direct selling" company, you don't have to go door-to-door to sell it anymore.
You can use your website to sell Avon to customers who are not even near you geographically, for example, by sending the link to your online store to family in another state. In fact, some Avon reps sell exclusively online. Order extra materials to get started. New Avon sales representatives get a discount on samples, so stock up while you can.
You will also receive free brochures to assist you in selling Avon. Order some business cards with your name, phone number, email address and website printed on them. You have to pay for all of the sales materials you order, but according to Avon, these start up costs are usually recovered in the first month of your business.
Spread the word. It's important that you let everyone know that you're now selling Avon; customers won't just come to you! Distribute brochures to friends, family members, co-workers and people at your church, gym, grocery store or anywhere else you frequent on a regular basis. Consider asking local businesses if you can leave the brochures in the break room or front lobby.
Be sure to attach your business card to the brochures so people will know who to contact when they want to purchase Avon products. Utilize social media, especially if you have a lot of friends or follows on websites like Facebook or Twitter. Let everyone know you are now selling Avon and post about products you love.
Try not to overdo it, since most people don't appreciate having their feeds overwhelmed with sales pitches. The best posts are those that give your personal experience with products that you love.
Consider setting up a party to help you get started selling Avon products. While parties are not required, it can be a useful selling tool.
